VISIT OF MAJOR GENERAL NS JAMWAL  TO
SAINIK SCHOOL AMARAVATHINAGAR ON 11 JUNE 2011

1.            Major General NS Jamwal, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Andhra, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka (ATNK & K) Area and Chairman, Local Board of Administration (LBA) of the Sainik School Amaravathinagar visited the school on 11 June 2011. Soon after his arrival the NCC cadets of the school presented an ‘Guard of Honour’ to the General. Thereafter Principal Sainik School, briefed the GOC about ongoing school activities and planned initiatives to ensure academic excellence.
2.            Subsequently, during the special assembly of the school, Major General Jamwal released Schools’ new innovative publication ‘Amaravian Reckoner’ for the academic year 2011-12 and addressed the academic staff and the cadets. In his address to cadets he highlighted the importance of achieving excellence in whatever one decides to do in life.
3.            The General Officer also inspected the school campus and other facilities. Other members of LBA, namely Sri M Mathivanan, District Collector of Tiruppur, Sri Sivasankaran, Chief Engineer PWD, Coimbatore Region, Mr.T Rajendran, Chief Education Officer, Tiruppur, Sri Ananthakumar, Parent Member and other officials of PWD and the Education Department of Government of Taminadu also visited the campus facilities and observed the  activities being conducted by the school.
4.            On completion of the campus inspection, Major General Jamwal  chaired  the 108th Local Board of Administration meeting of the school.
